Lucknow, Nov 30 – The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday presented its first supplementary budget for the financial year 2023-24 with a size of more than Rs 28,760.67 crore in both the houses of the State Legislature.


Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna tabled the supplementary grants of Rs 28,760.67 crore on the table of the house in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.


In the supplementary grant, while more than Rs 19,046.39 crore have been proposed for revenue expenditure, another Rs 9,714.28 crore have been proposed for capital expenditure. In the budget, Rs 7,421.21 crore has been proposed for new schemes and Rs 21,339 crore has been sought to complete the ongoing schemes.


In the supplementary grant, the need for funds has been stated for honorarium under PM Nutrition Scheme, Government Homeopathic Medical Colleges in Aligarh and Gorakhpur, construction of piped drinking water scheme in rural areas under Jal Jeevan Mission, infrastructure facilities in primary and upper primary schools.


Apart from this, the need for a budget for construction of new bridges in urban areas and for state major and district roads has been stated.
