New Delhi, Nov 21: The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), India organised an “Innovations for Equality” Exhibition here on the occasion of World Children’s Day.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi graced the event at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).

Speaking on the occasion, Lekhi, who also holds the portfolio of MoS Culture, highlighted the initiatives of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre in fostering a culture of innovation for the youth of our country.

Lekhi said youngsters’ minds always bring innovative and fresh ideas to get scientific solutions to the issues. “Youngsters don’t think that their efforts are small as the ideas are so important for human beings for development and better results, She said.

Positive thinking creates positive innovations, Lekhi said, “Equal participation of youngsters is essential for development in the field of science and technology. The fresh ideas bring more scientific solutions for new challenges.”

The minister was also amazed by the artworks of the young innovators from across the country.

World Children’s Day is UNICEF’s annual day of action for the children, by the children taking place every year on November 20. It aims to highlight critical issues affecting Children’s lives and supports the engagement of children and young people as advocates for their rights.

Every year UNICEF and partners around the world work for and with children, mark the day, focused on exciting activities to promote child rights.
