Nagpur, Dec 13 – The Shiv Sena (Shinde) legislators on Tuesday made a demand for a ban on ‘halal’ products in Maharashtra on the lines in Uttar Pradesh, said Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson, Hindu Janjagriti Samiti, here.


Shiv Sena MLAs Dr Manisha Kayande, Sarvashree Bharatsheth Gogawle, Pratap Sarnaik, Santosh Bangar, Balaji Kalyankar and Prakash Surve met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in state Assembly premises and made the demand, he said.


On behalf of the HJS, Dr Kayande was presented with a detailed information on illegal ‘halal’ certification and the book ‘Halal Jihad’, he informed.
Considering its seriousness, the MLA has written a letter to the Chief Minister and made the above demand, Shinde added.
