Raipur, Dec 18 – Chhattisgarh’s former Chief Minister Raman Singh on Sunday tendered his resignation from the post of BJP Vice President.

In a communication to party head Jagat Prakash Nadda, Singh wrote, “The party has named me as Assembly Speaker therefore I cannot continue to occupy the position of BJP Vice President.”

Earlier in the day, Singh submitted his nomination papers for the Speaker’s post. The principal-opposition Congress has also supported him.
