Nagpur, Dec 20 – Industry Minister Uday Samant on Tuesday said in the Maharashtra Assembly that various housing schemes are being implemented in Navi Mumbai area through CIDCO under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
While replying to Lakshavedi suggestion raised by member Amin Patel on curbing air pollution caused by ongoing constructions in Navi Mumbai, he explained that due to measures taken by CIDCO and local bodies, the amount of dust in Navi Mumbai was reducing.
Contractors have also been instructed to take legal precautions in this regard, he informed and said that care is being taken to ensure that the general public will not suffer from dust.
Also, the Environment Department will be instructed to take action against the polluting companies and the report on such companies will be submitted in the next session of assembly, added Samant.
