Srinagar, Oct 26 — A high-level multi-agency joint security review meeting took place at the Army’s Srinagar-based 15 headquarters amid the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The meeting was co-chaired by Advisor to the Governor of J&K, R R Bhatnagar, and Army’s Northern Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi.

The meeting, attended by J&K Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, Army’s Srinagar-based 15 Corps Commander, and heads of intelligence agencies and security forces representatives, focused on coordinating and strategizing security measures in the Union Territory in light of the Middle East crisis.

According to Lt Col M K Sahu, the Srinagar-based defence spokesman, the meeting deliberated on the situation in the Middle East and discussed various contingency scenarios. Additionally, nuances of security in the region were discussed, especially in relation to the onset of the winter season.

The meeting also addressed actions to enhance counter-infiltration (CI) and counter-terrorism (CT) efforts in preparation for the approaching winter.
