Nagpur, Dec 12 – Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that he will talk to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and request him to do something for onion growers so that they can avoid losses following the ban on export of onions.

Replying to Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve’s suggestion under MNP Rule 283 in the Legislative Council on Monday on this issue, he said that onion is currently available in the country and grant of permission for export of kitchen staple will create difficulty.

The government is ready to buy onions so that farmers do not suffer losses, he assured.
