Mumbai, Dec 6 – Extending rally for the third straight session on Wednesday, the BSE Sensex went up 287.98 points at 69,584.12, a lifetime high in the opening session, as buying was witnessed in Oil and Gas, Power, IT and Energy stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 80.50 points at 20,935.60.
The Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 69,673.83 and 69,395.01 points respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days highs and lows at 20,958.65 and 20,887.55 points respectively.
The Mid Cap gained 0.24 pc and the Small Cap by 0.11 pc.
The gainers were Wipro by 2.03 pc to Rs 412.50, ITC by 1.82 pc to Rs 459.85, Tech Mahindra by 1.50 pc to Rs 1238.50, Asian Paints by 1.36 pc to Rs 3270.05 and Nestle India Ltd by 1.36 pc to Rs 29,940.
The losers were ICICI Bank by 0.90 pc to Rs 1004.40, NTPC by 0.56 pc to Rs 283.90 and Bharti Airtel by 0.49 pc to Rs 1025.60.
