Lucknow, Nov 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared that the state government will once again distribute free gas cylinders on the occasion of Holi in March next year as part of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. He made this announcement during the inauguration of the distribution campaign for free LPG refills under the Ujjwala Yojana for 1.75 crore eligible families in the state.

Yogi Adityanath urged beneficiaries to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar to avail themselves of this scheme. The state government has allocated Rs 2,312 crore for this campaign, which aims to provide relief to families facing economic challenges.

The Chief Minister highlighted the success of the Ujjwala scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. He emphasized that before 2014, many people struggled to get gas connections, and women faced health issues due to traditional cooking methods. The Ujjwala Yojana has addressed these challenges, providing clean and economical fuel to millions of households.

Yogi Adityanath praised the direct transfer of subsidy amounts to beneficiaries’ accounts, thanks to Aadhaar linkage. He symbolically handed over subsidy amounts to ten female beneficiaries during the event.

The Ujjwala Yojana has played a crucial role in improving the lives of the poor and marginalized by ensuring access to clean cooking fuel. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his commitment to providing affordable and clean energy solutions to the people.
