New Delhi, Dec 14 – The Union Home Ministry has formed a panel to probe into the shocking Parliament security breach that happened on Wednesday when the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were on.

The incident coincided with the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament.

“An Enquiry Committee has been set up under Shri Anish Dayal Singh, DG, CRPF, with members from other security agencies and experts,” Home Ministry spokesperson said in a post on ‘X’.

The spokesperson said that the enquiry has been launched on request from Lok Sabha Secretariat.

“Enquiry Committee will investigate into the reasons for breach in security of Parliament, identify lapses and recommend further action. The Committee will submit its report with recommendations, including suggestions on improving security in Parliament, at the earliest,” the official spokesperson said.

In a shocking incident which triggered panic and chaos in Lok Sabha today, two men carrying smoke canisters jumped into the chamber of the Lower House from the visitors’ gallery.

Both the intruders were immediately apprehended and taken into Police custody.
