Agra, Oct 26: Panic gripped passengers when two coaches of Patalkot Express train running between Firozpur in Punjab and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh caught fire in Malpura area of Agra district in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

Police sources here said that the incident took place near Bandai railway station when the two coaches of the express train caught fire. “The passengers jumped out of the coaches in a bid to save their lives,” they said.

The sources also said that a couple of passengers sustained injuries in the incident, but it was not confirmed by the railway authorities.

Police sources said that railway officers along with fire tenders reached the spot and efforts were being made to douse the flames with the help of the local residents.

“Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans have also reached the spot,” they said.
