New Delhi, Oct 27 – Prof SP Singh Baghel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, highlights the government’s commitment to extending health services to remote areas, focusing on last-mile coverage. Addressing the 17th edition of ‘FICCI HEAL 2023’ on Thursday, Prof Baghel underscores the importance of addressing healthcare disparities and the government’s efforts under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to leverage telemedicine for wider medical coverage.

The Minister emphasizes the need for promoting organ and blood donation through extensive campaigns, urging the industry to take a lead role in driving these initiatives nationwide.

Reflecting on the success of the Ayushman Bharat Program, Prof Baghel reveals that over Rs 70,000 crore has been utilized under the PMJAY scheme to promote affordable healthcare in India. Notably, more than 1.80 crore Ayushman cards and 2.31 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs have been generated.

Prof Baghel calls upon FICCI to facilitate a consultative meeting between healthcare providers, empanelled under AB-PMJAY, and Health Ministry officials to address industry concerns and challenges.
