Hyderabad, Dec 14 – Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, who took charge as the new commissioner of police of Hyderabad city here on Wednesday said that our primary goal is to transform Hyderabad into a ‘ drug free city’.


While addressing the media, Sreenivasa expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy for giving this opportunity.


Prohibiting Drugs and gambling in the city, the Police Commissioner said that we will coordinate along with Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissioners to make Hyderabadi into a drug free city and drugs.
Issuing a strict warning to all the drug gangs, he said that they will be dealt with an iron foot.
It has come to our attention that many cinema industry people are consuming drugs as well, he said that we will be conducting a meeting with the senior fraternity of the cinema industry to educate them and bring awareness among them.


Pubs, restaurants and farmhouses around the city will be our primary focus, he informed.

A quick response team in cases of undesirable incidents should be strengthened by utilising the latest technology and also improvise the basic policing in order to achieve this goal, the CP said She teams will also be strengthened in order to Provide safety to women, A strict action will be taken against people harassing, eve-teasing and ragging women.
We are friendly with law abiding people but we will be strict if anyone breaks the law, he cautioned.
