Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 12 – Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Monday alleged that attempts were made to hurt him physically by goons at the direction of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The members of pro-CPM ‘Students Federation of India’ (SFI) shown black flags and raised slogans against the Governor when he was on the way to airport to board a flight to New Delhi this evening.

The protestors also hit on both sides of the Governor’s vehicle. Later, they fled away from the spot in a jeep when the Governor got down from the vehicle to question them. The SFI is staging state-wide protests alleging that the Governor was trying to saffronise the Universities in the State.

Soon after the incident, the Governor told newspersons that Chief Minister was hatching a conspiracy to hurt him physically. “The police pushed the criminals into their jeep and allowed them to fled away from the scene. Poor police people are helpless as the goondas are acting under the direction of the Chief Minister,” he added.

Will they allow anybody to come near to the Chief Minister’s car, he asked.

“Goondas had been given the charge of the roads in Thiruvananthapuram. The constitutional machinery seems to be collapsed. This Goonda raj cannot be allowed,” he added.
