Jammu, Dec 16 – Stating that Jammu and Kashmir required massive economical and developmental changes, Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Friday that if his party comes to power, he will restart work in triple-shift and ensure Jammu and Kashmir becomes one of the top-developed UT’s of the country.

“We are lacking in infrastructural development in many other states of the country. We need to build roads, schools, colleges, and hospitals on a large scale, which will help us improve our economy and offer job opportunities to our youth,” said Azad while welcoming scores of young lawyers and social activists from Jammu who joined DPAP in his presence here.

The former chief minister promised that once his party comes to power, he will restart work in triple shifts and ensure Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most developed UTs in the country.

“My party is committed to development, peace, and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, and I ensure that everyone joining the party fold strongly believes in the party’s agenda,” Azad said, adding that “this agenda is attracting youths from diverse sections of society, which suggests that everyone in the Union Territory is craving change.”

Azad asked new entrants to resolve to carry the agenda of development forward for peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir.

“My commitment to people is to ensure equitable development of the Union Territory where all regions, religions, and sections of society are treated on par with each other,” he said.

He said development is the core agenda of the party.
“I advise you to focus on issues of public interest and the development of the UT. This is our core agenda,” he advised the lawyers.
