Nashik, Oct 26: A joint operation by the local crime branch and city police in Kopargaon, Ahmednagar district, led to the seizure of 10 kg of cannabis brought from Chhattisgarh for sale. Three individuals, including Azim Qureshi, were apprehended along with 3 mobile phones and an unnumbered motorcycle valued at Rs 3.40 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the suspects at Triple Seat Sai Corner, Kopargaon, where they were allegedly planning to sell narcotics. The arrested individuals disclosed that the seized cannabis was sourced from Taufeek Tamboli Idgah Phata, Lakenagar, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

A case has been filed under sections 8 (c), 20 (c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. Poni Pradeep Deshmukh is leading the further investigation into the case.”
