Nagpur, Dec 12 – Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), under the leadership of Nana Patole, on Monday took out a ‘hallabol morcha’ here from Dikshabhoomi to state Assembly to protest against the BJP-led state government for neglecting farmers’ issues.

Addressing the party workers, he said that the problems of farmers, farm labourers, workers and unemployed are big in the state, but the blind, deaf and dumb BJP government is not paying attention to it.

The Chief Minister refuses to answer questions about farmers, he said and alleged that the help assured by the government to farmers has not reached them so far.
He further said that there is severe water scarcity in the state while on other hand recent unseasonal rains have caused huge losses to farmers, he noted.

The MPCC chief alleged that the BJP government does not care about farmers and it has made a mockery of unemployed youths.
Today, Maharashtra is number one in the country in terms of crime, corruption and riots, he pointed.
The Zilla Parishad schools are being closed, but the government is misleading people by telling lies, he charged.

Talking about the recently held assembly elections, Patole said that the Congress party has got a lot of public support in border areas of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh bordering Maharashtra.
About 75 to 100 per cent of Congress candidates have been elected from these areas, he said and added that there is a Congress wave in Maharashtra too.
