Mumbai, Dec 7 – Ram Karan Yadav, the General Manager of Central Railway, oversaw a thorough inspection of the footplates along the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Thane route on Wednesday.

Conducting the inspection from a motorman’s cabin in the Down CSMT-Kasara fast local, Yadav focused on various aspects, including cleanliness of stations and tracks, trespassing issues, and safety measures related to tracks, overhead equipment (OHE), and signaling.

Upon reaching Thane station, Yadav continued the inspection, assessing the cleanliness of the station premises, toilet blocks, and the efficiency of traffic regulation arrangements at SATIS (city bus stand and auto stand).

He also delved into safety aspects and monitored passenger complaint handling at the station manager’s office, scrutinized CCTV (closed-circuit TV) camera security arrangements, and engaged with passengers at UTS counters. Additionally, Yadav interacted with ATVM facilitators, inspected self-ticketing zones featuring ATVM machines, and engaged with RPF/GRP staff to ensure effective crowd management.

During the inspection, Yadav traveled in suburban local trains from Thane to CSMT, interacting with passengers along the way. Stations at Thane and Dadar were also thoroughly inspected, with a special focus on arrangements related to Mahaparinirvan Din observed at Dadar station.
