Hyderabad, Oct 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will review the passing-out parade of the 75th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) here on Friday.

After the ceremonial march past, Shah will address the probationers.

A total of 175 officer trainees including 20 foreign officer trainees and 34 lady officers will be part of the Dikshant Parade, which marks the completion of 49 weeks of the phase-1 basic course at the academy, Academy Director Amit Garg said in a press Conference here on Wednesday.

Among them , there are 155 IPS officer trainees including 32 lady IPS officer trainees , he said.

Last year, we have adopted one indoor subject ” Attitudes, Ethics and Human Rights ” out of 11 indoor subjects, the Academy Director said that in addition to the curriculum, special inputs are imparted in modul format including Module on Crime Against Women and children; VIP Security Module; Cybercrime investigation; Media Management Module , Maritime Security Module and Special Tactics Module — Explosives, Jungle Tactics and Urban Tactics

As many as 102 of the total 155 IPS probationers have an educational background in engineering, he said.

Among others, 17 come from Arts, 12 from science and 10 from commerce backgrounds he informed.

About 91 officer trainees have previous work experience. “The training has focused on emerging, new-age challenges on the cyber front while also touching on modules on attitudes, ethics, public relations and legal aspects, including court craft and mock trial,” Amit said.

Of total foreign officers including two ladies, 6 from Royal Bhutan, 5 each from Maldives and Nepal and 4 from Mauritius.

While referring to state-wise IPS probationers distribution (Domicile), he said highest number of 23 from Maharashtra followed by 21 each from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
