Mumbai, Dec 19 – The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is organising its two-day ‘West Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet’ from December 19 on theme ‘Future of Work and Skill Development’.
Hosted by Somaiya Vidyavihar University here, the meet will deliberate on issues keeping in view the global trends, national preparedness and regional requirements in consonance with institutional readiness.


Based on recommendations of the annual meet, a ‘University Action Plan on Future of Work & Skill
Development’ will be prepared which will be a handy guide for higher educational institutions in the country.


A policy document will also be prepared and presented to the Government of India. AIU has chosen the theme ‘Higher Education@2047’ for the Vice Chancellors’ Meet in the session 2023-24.


Ramesh Bais, Governor of Maharashtra, will be the chief guest at inaugural function and Prof G D Sharma, president of AIU and vice-chancellor, USTM, Meghalaya will preside over the meet.


T P Sreenivasan, IFS (retired), former ambassador and Permanent representative of India to the United Nations, will be the chief guest of the valedictory session, a press release said here on Monday.
