Chennai, Nov 30 – Actor-politician and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder Vijayakanth’s health condition took a turn for the worse, requiring extended hospitalization, as per the latest bulletin from MIOT Hospital.

Admitted on November 18 due to breathing problems and lung infection, the 71-year-old “Captain” had initially shown signs of recovery. However, in the last 24 hours, he experienced a mild deterioration, necessitating additional pulmonary support. The hospital stated that Vijayakanth will need to remain under medical care for at least the next 14 days.

While expressing confidence in his eventual full recovery, the bulletin emphasized the need for extended treatment and monitoring to ensure his health stabilizes.

Political leaders and film personalities took to social media to extend their wishes for Vijayakanth’s speedy recovery. In a video message, his wife and DMDK General Secretary Premalatha assured supporters that the Captain would soon bounce back and meet with all party cadres.
